Working with the supply chain

We want to work with suppliers and partners to develop and shape the Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub’s supply chain.

Our Hydrogen in Scotland: Building the Supply Chain report underlines this commitment, examining the current status of the UK hydrogen supply chain and its future opportunities and challenges.   You can view the report and its recommendations here.

It supports our procurement strategy and we will provide updates on our plans here.

The strategy reflects applicable procurement regulations and aims to maximise local content in the procurement approach, benefitting wherever possible the communities closest to the hub.

Tender for procurement for the Design and Build of a Solar PV Plant:

A tender for procurement for the Design and Build of a Solar PV Plant was launched mid-2023 and advertised on Public Contracts Scotland (PCS), following a Prior Information Notice (PIN) issued earlier in the year.

The tender has now closed, and the contract will be awarded in due course.

Tender for procurement for Civils and Infrastructure package:

A tender for procurement of the Civils and Infrastructure package for the project was launched in 2023 following market engagement and has now closed, with the contract awarded.

Tender for procurement for System Integrator, Electrical Package & Commissioning:

Following a period of market engagement, the tender for procurement for the System Integrator, Electrical Package and Commissioning for the project was re-launched following feedback from the market.

The tender has now closed, and the contract is awarded.

Tender for procurement for the Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Hydrogen Equipment:

A tender for procurement for the Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Hydrogen Equipment for the Purpose of Production, Compression, Storage and Dispensation of Hydrogen Fuel was re-launched was advertised on Public Contracts Scotland (PCS).

The tender has now closed, and the contract is awarded.

We are keen to hear from suppliers who are interested in providing Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub’s products and services and / or contributing supply chain insights to inform the future development of the hydrogen supply chain in the North East of Scotland.

We are particularly interested in hearing from suppliers and partners who can contribute to the local Scottish and wider UK hydrogen economy.

This means companies with expertise that could transition into hydrogen-related goods and services and    

  • are based in Scotland with significant operations here;  

  • are interested in establishing a presence in/relocating to Scotland.
